I am a total newbee at this blogging thing but I suppose this is the place where I tell one and all what is going on in ThE HoUsE ThAt GiNa BuiLt.
Here is the skinny .....
I have been surviving for over a week with no hearing in my left ear. Yeah, you read it right, no hearing at all in my left ear!
It all started last Monday ... actually it prolly started way before then ... lets go back.
For about a month I had a sinus/head cold that I couldn't shake, in fact, Max and I seemed to be passing it back and forth. Papa, who must have the immune system of a rock, never even had a sniffle. So the weekend before last Max was all better and I was finally feeling like this monster strain was leaving the house. Not so fast! Last Monday morning, after feeling much better all weekend long, I woke up with an excruciating ear ache. I went to work thinking I could eat some breakfast and take a decongestant and that would be the end of it. No way Jose!
By noon I was in tears and everyone at work and my mom were telling me to go to the Dr.
Thankfully the ear nose and throat Dr take appointments same day and I was able to get in later Monday afternoon.
The Dr took one look inside and said "you have one heack of an ear infection!".
He gave me an antibiotic and some ear drops and sent me on my way. The first night was bad ... Papa had to take care of Max and I had to drug myself in order to just lay on the couch. The next day the ear drained and miraculously the pain was gone!
But so was my hearing .....
Its been over seven days now and all I can hear out of the left side is my own voice in my head .... I never thought my own voice could become so annoying!
I have to go back to the Dr in a week for a follow up and by golly if I don't have hearing at that time I am going to FREAK!
Everyone keeps saying that it could take up to four weeks for hearing to come back after something like this ...... FOUR WEEKS. You haven't heard my husband talk ... he is the low talker of all low talkers, I swear I am asking him "what?" more times than not.
If anyone has any suggestions on this matter please let me know ... at this point I am willing to try anything (ok, not anything!)

Holy cow Shat, that really sucks!! I would say go to the doctor ASAP and not wait but, who knows?? I am happy things are going well for you. Keep in touch!
Wow! I could probably find on ebay one of those old-fashioned ear trumpets that you can hold to your ear. I understand the whole mumbling thing...it must run in the family b/c I hardly hear Aaron much of the time. Speak up MAN!
Aaron also says....Malpractice Suit! Get set for life! :) (He's kidding of course.)
